An old resort area, a young city
Liberty Lake incorporated on August 31, 2001 (City of Liberty Lake), but the area was a resort called the Inland Seashore in the early 1900s (HistoryLink).
It lies about 16 miles east of downtown Spokane and roughly 1 mile west of the Idaho line, and the lake itself is just outside the city limits (Liberty Lake). Farmland and orchards gave way to housing, and the 2024 population was about 13,353, in the Central Valley School District (Revisit Washington).
